I think Reign is trying to be less of an energy drink and more of a energy drink/ sports drink hybrid. Maybe it helps people with poor wrist and hand strength, but I really don’t think they are thinking about those people.
Oh boy, gotta make sure I grip the can well as I pour it in my glass. We saw it with that Mountain Dew Gamer Fuel stuff too. I don’t know why drink manufacturers insist on putting a grip feel on their cans. It now makes way more sense that this is a Monster subsidiary. In the case of Carnival Candy, it is neon pink. Originally I thought it was a bootleg Monster can since it had that black background with a dynamic colored logo. Along the top of the can it shows off its energy giving stuff like amino acids and CoQ10 and….”electrolytes.” Yeah, thanks for that vague description, Monster. Reign is supposed to be more natural than it’s parent Monster.
I know Bang was popular with my buddy Gildem’s workplace like he told me once so Monster must have saw it starting to get popular and decided to get in on this trend. They see a small company trying to fight for its place so they make their own to crush them. Yeah, this seems like Monster’s direct response to Bang. I guess the only info I have to go on is from this can. Oh well, time to go on hearsay! Reign isn’t even on the Monster website at the time of me writing this. I’m trying to find the Reign website but it takes me to some other would-be energy drink called Reign and it looks nothing like this line. Reign is owned by the Monster Beverage company. The only issue I see is that Bang sort of fell off and Reign continues to…reign.Īh! Well, now this makes a lot more sense. It does seem kind of odd that two energy drinks with the same sort of formula made their way here around the same time. They also both focus on CoQ10 and amino acids to provide energy. They have a similar style in colors as well as flavors. I believe Reign is trying to…rain on Bang’s parade. My grocery store went from a tiny energy drink section to this massive wall which is populated by Reign as well as the big named ones like Monster. What do I know about Reign? It just came out of nowhere here and now it is all over the place. Yes, it is hot and humid so what’s a better way to cool off than with a cold energy drink? A lot of things, but I’m tired and I need to write about this one.
